Workplace safety is something that every company needs to make a top priority. There are various types of hazards that exist and in general they are all just covered under the generic topic of workplace safety. Interestingly, electrical safety is often addressed separately by many businesses. Some people wonder as to why electrical safety is so important and why it gets so much attention. There are many statistics and facts that can provide some insights into what makes electrical safety stand out when it comes to the efforts that are made to improve safety. Navy Blue energy performs detailed Electrical Safety audit including power quality studies for Industries, Commercial Spaces and Residential Premises. Electrical hazards can’t be completely avoided, but the positive side of it is that they can be prevented very easily. Electrical safety audit is one of the most effective ways to check out hidden causes of future electrical hazards and help resolve root causes of electrical hazards to minimize the risk of future electrical hazards.

WHAT WE DO IN ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUDIT?

Thermography of electrical db/panels is done by infrared thermal camera, which shows hot spots in images with respective temperatures. By thermal imaging we detect hot spots in the db/panel at connectors, cable terminals and recommend require actions.

Insulation resistance testing

Major reason of fire in any premises is electrical short circuit and the major reason of electrical short circuit is weak insulation of cables. By insulation resistance testing, we test the resistance of insulation of cable. It shows the health of cable.

Earth resistance and continuity testing

Earthing system is provided for safety of occupant and machine from leakage current. Any leakage current should pass through earthing cable/strip to earth. In earth testing we check the continuity of earthing strip/cable and test the earth resistance and recommend any changes needed.

Load balance testing and general inspection

In three phase electrical connections, all the electrical load should be equally distributed in three phases to avoid overloading of single phase. We check the load balancing in three phases and recommend load shifting if required. General inspection of electrical rooms, DBs, panels according to standards - We inspect all electrical rooms, panels, DBs as per electrical safety standards and recommend any changes required to minimize the risk of electrical hazards.
